Ensembles Music 2017-10-05T22:06:19+00:00

TAKE NOTE:

For all ensemble music – you may edit your part so that it works for you at the level you are playing now. That may mean leaving some of the notes out or playing only treble clef or only bass clef. This experience is yours, so adjust the parts to your needs. With all of us playing together, we will have everything covered. We hope this will be both challenging, pleasant and fun.

ENSEMBLE WITH CINDY

Upon registration, you will receive MP3s of Green and Blue and Wayfaring Stranger to listen to and even play along.

We hope everyone will participate in this experience with our featured artist! With a rehearsal on Friday and a rehearsal on Saturday, our final informal performance will end our day on Saturday. You will need to order and prepare your parts before the festival. Please feel free to invite friends and loved ones to our informal finale on Saturday. You may choose to be in one or both Cindy’s Ensemble and Kimberly’s Ensemble depending on how much music you want to prepare. Lever and pedal. All levels.

1) Wayfaring Stranger arranged by Cindy Horstman.
Harp 1 and Harp  2 may be played on lever or pedal harp.
Purchasing: All parts with score are available at several harp stores as a hardcopy or a PDF.
For a more affordable option, you may purchase a single part only (PDF download) on Cindy’s website
http://www.cindyhorstman.com/buy_sheet_music/the_wayfaring_stranger_for_harp_ensemble/
OR HCM link: https://harpcolumnmusic.com/all-music/artists/cindy-horstman/the-wayfaring-stranger/

Additional notes:
Please note: The mp3 does not include the repeat.

Harp 1 Melody  – lever or pedal – best part for lever harps
Harp 2 More advanced – lever or pedal – includes harmonics and chords.
Harmonics can be created by playing the note up an octave instead of the harmonic
Harp 3 for pedal harp only. Because of the rapidly repeating
pattern in the right hand, you can choose to just play left hand.

2) Green and Blue by Cindy Horstman
Harp 1 and Harp  2 may be played on lever or pedal harp. Lever harpers will need to mark their lever changes. Harp 1 has more lever changes than Harp 2.
Purchasing: All parts with score are available at several harp stores as a hard copy of PDF download.
For a more affordable option, you may purchase a single part only (PDF download) on Cindy’s website
http://www.cindyhorstman.com/buy_sheet_music/the_wayfaring_stranger_for_harp_ensemble/
OR HCM link: https://harpcolumnmusic.com/all-music/artists/cindy-horstman/the-wayfaring-stranger/

Additional notes:
Harp 1 Melody – for lever and pedal harps. Requires several lever changes – mark the lever changes and bring your questions to rehearsal
Harp 2 For lever and pedal harps – this part is a countermelody
Harp 3 for pedal harp only. Because of the pedal changes, you can choose to just play left hand.

3) Our final piece requires no preparation at all! Cindy will provide a piece with a simple melody and chords names. She will walk through reading and adding the chords. You may play just the melody, just the chords or put them together according to your comfort level. No purchase.
Did we mention – no preparation ahead of time? : )
